A path created by a moving point, mark or object. It can vary in width, direction, and length
Line
Red, blue, and yellow (Why do they have this name?)

Cool Colors
This is how an object feels or looks and can be described as soft, hard, bumpy, etc.
Texture
The part of an artwork around and between (not occupied by) parts of the main subject(s).
What is negative space?
In art, this refers to the lightness or darkness of something, not how much it is worth.
Value
These colors are made by mixing two of the Primary Colors together.
Secondary colors
This element is described as three-dimensional (3D) and takes up space.
Form
When a line crosses over itself, it creates this: a two-dimensional (2D), flat enclosed area with a height and width.
Shape
Colors opposite each other on the color wheel, for example blue and orange of red and green.
Complementary colors
The term for the space closest to the viewer.
Foreground.
A color plus black (noun, not verb)
Shade
These shapes are precise, regular and often mathematical like squares, circles, and triangles
Geometric shapes
This Element is defined as the area around, between, or within the artwork.
Space
When similar parts are arranged in a balanced way around a center point. Example: a sunflower
What is radial symmetry?
This is the term for placing objects on top of one another to show space.
Overlapping.
A gradual blend of two or more colors into one another
What is a gradient?
An outline of an object or its main internal details
Contour line
Define craftsmanship.
What is the quality of design and work shown in something made by hand
The area of a landscape that is the farthest away. It should be closest to the top of the paper.
Background
These type of shapes are irregular and uneven, often associated with things in the natural world.
Organic shapes
The element of art derived from reflected or absorbed light. It is also referred to as "hue."
Color
Texture that cannot be touched physically
Visual or implied texture
When two halves of a shape are mirror images of each other. This is one way to show visual balance.
Symmetry or symmetrical
