What are scenes?
Where the scenes or acts take place in the drama/play.
What is the setting?
This is a list of all the characters in a play. They usually are listed order of when they appear in the play
What is the cast?
These are instructions for the actors, the director, and the stage crew and are normally written in italics
What are stage directions?
This is where plays are performed
What is a theater?
This is the person who sets the scene for a play and comments on the action
Who is the narrator?
The words or conversations spoken by characters to each other. Usually has quotations marks
What is dialogue?
How a character feels or thinks and how it makes them act based on those emotions.
What are internal character traits?
The sequence of events that make up a play, including the beginning, middle, and end. It explains what happens and why it happens, focused on a main character facing a problem.
What is the plot?
This is a major piece within a play in which two or more scenes are grouped together
What is an act?
This is where the play takes place. It usually has three walls
What is a stage?
When a character or characters solve the problems they faced or that challenged them.
What is a resolution?
Kelly: "Please, leave me alone!" (walks across stage with arms folded)
The words in italics and in (parenthesis) are an example of this.
What are stage directions?
How a character looks on the outside such as their clothes, hair, and other outward features.
What are external character traits?
Kelly: "Please, leave me alone!"
The words being spoken by Kelly are using this type of punctuation to show dialogue.
What are quotation marks?
Kelly: "Please, leave me alone!"
This the name of the person who is speaking in the play.
Who is an actor, cast member or performer?
A type of drama that is light and funny and usually has a happy ending
What is a comedy?
This is the written form of a play that has cast of characters, setting, and stage directions
What is a script?
He or she is the author of a play
