What is SETTING?
The VISUAL BACKGROUND on a stage that tells you where the action is taking place.
What is the SCENERY or SET?
The art of speaking and moving to create characters in plays, movie, and TV. It is an actor PRETENDING to look, feel, and think like different characters.
What is ACTING?
A set of instructions directing the actors on where to stand, and when to move. It is usually known only to the narrator or the actors.
Stage directions
A fake beard, a wig, and clothes from another time and place are examples of this.
What are COSTUMES?
It's WHO the story is about. It can be people or animals.
What are CHARACTERS?
It's something that actors WEAR to LOOK LIKE their characters and to make themselves as more believable as those characters.
What are COSTUMES and/or MAKE-UP?
What the characters do while on stage. It helps us to follow the plot.

When a play is broken up into different parts

Where and when the play takes place.
What is Setting?
The SERIES OF EVENTS of a story; the BEGINNING, MIDDLE, and END.
What is PLOT?
Anything the actors touches or uses during a play.
What is a PROP?
Actors use these with, and sometimes without, speaking to help convey messages or emotions. Sometimes these are done with the body (such as nodding, waving, or shrugging) but also with facial expressions (such as smiling or frowning).
What are GESTURES?
This is the person who wrote the play
What is a playwright?
A glass of water, a sword, or a phone are examples of this.
What are PROPS?
It is the written version of a play, movie, or show. Actors learn their lines from this and it tells them what to do and say. It describes all the details about the story.
What is a SCRIPT?
This is SOMETHING WE HEAR that is sometimes used in plays, movies, or shows TO CREATE A CERTAIN MOOD OR FEELING (such as suspense or fear).
What is SOUND and/or MUSIC?
A conversation between two or more characters.
What is DIALOGUE?
This is when someone shares words, images, and sounds that bring the plot of a story to life. All cultures have some form of this special art.
What is STORYTELLING?
A character is someone who the story is about but this is the PERSON who is pretending to be that character.
What is an ACTOR?
A STRUGGLE OR PROBLEM a character must solve by the end of the story or play. It is usually someone or something that tests, or challenges, a character.
What is CONFLICT?

What are ELEMENTS OF DRAMA?
A speech made by ONE character who speaks to a silent listener or an audience.
