What is ACTING?

What are COSTUMES?
VOCAL expression, projection, style, and diction are all forms of this performance element.
What is SPEAKING?
It is the actor's ability to SPEAK OUT to the whole audience without having to shout.
What is PROJECTION?
Actors use these with, and sometimes without, speaking to help convey messages or emotions. Sometimes these are done with the body (such as nodding, waving, or shrugging) but also with facial expressions (such as smiling or frowning).
What is NONVERBAL EXPRESSION or GESTURES?
This is SOMETHING WE HEAR that is sometimes used in plays, movies, or shows TO CREATE A CERTAIN MOOD OR FEELING (such as suspense or fear).
What is SOUND and/or MUSIC?
A conversation between two or more characters.
What is DIALOGUE?

What are TECHNICAL ELEMENTS?
A speech made by ONE character who speaks to a silent listener or an audience.
