What is the climax?
This character is one dimensional. They lack much depth or detail about them.
What is a flat character?
this POV is from the point of an outsider and lacks knowledge of emotion or thought. They can only write what ANYONE else in the story could see or hear or witness.
What is third person limited?
this is something that is itself, but also represents something more than itself
What is a symbol?
this is the very beginning of the story.
What is the exposition?
this is a character who changes over the course of a story
What is dynamic character?
This POV is at type of 3rd person and all knowing
What is omniscient?
This is when reality is the opposite of what you expect as a reader OR when the audience is aware of something of which the characters are completely unaware.
What is irony?
this is the ending of the story
What is resolution?
this is a character that stays the same in a story
What is static character?
He seemed happy, or at least he smiled a great deal more now. The history and character of Mr. Bilbo Baggins became once again the chief topic of conversation. No one had a more attentive audience than old Ham Gamgee. He spoke and they listened.
What is third person limited?
We study how a character looks in facial expressions, body movements and speech as well as the way they think and feel.
What is external and internal responses?
this is when the story starts settling down, and problems start being resolved
What is the falling action? or denoument?
this is a character that is fully developed and has different sides to their personality
What is a round character?
"When we talk about ourselves, our opinions and the things that happen to us, we try and illicit a connection from our audience. We want them to feel a connection to us, so we allow them in our heads while we think or act."
What is first person?
This may include culture, historical period, geographic location as well as time period & place.
What is setting?
this is the part of the story where the story gets complicated with lots of problems
What is the rising action?
We need to understand the reason for the character's actions so we look for these.
What is a character motivations?
"'All the same. He is a good man, truthful, kind and remarkable in his sphere.' Anna said to herself....'But why do his ears stick out so oddly? Did he have to have his hair cut?' Exactly at midnight, when Anna was sitting at her desk finishing a letter, she heard the measured steps of slippered feet outside her door. "
What is 3rd person omniscient?
This is a type of question in which you MUST use EVIDENCE from the text plus REASONING/ THINKING in order to answer it.
What is inferencing?
