Antagonist

Man vs. Self

1st person
The feeling a piece of literature creates in a reader.
mood
This introduces a conflict (problem) which builds suspense.
Rising Action
The main character in a story, often a good or heroic type.
Protagonist
A problem between a character and society, school, the Law, or some tradition.
Man vs. Society
You are part of the story because you are a character in the story. (you, your)
2nd person
The attitude or feeling that comes across in a piece of literature. This is how the author wants you to feel.
Tone
This is the highest point/most exciting part of a story.
Climax
One of the people or animals in a story.
Character
A problem between characters.
Man vs. Man
The view from which a story is told. This depends upon the narrator, or person telling the story.
Point of View
The message about life or the life lesson that is learned from a story.
theme
the beginning of a story where the characters and setting are introduced
exposition
The place and time frame in which a story takes place.
Setting
A problem between a character and some element of nature - a blizzard, a hurricane, a mountain climb, etc.
Man vs. Nature
the narrator exists outside of the story and addresses the characters by name or as "he/she/they" and "him/her/them."
3rd person
A conversation in a story is called what?

This occurs after the climax of the story, resolves conflict and ties up loose ends of the story.

Something that includes the exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution
