You're at a restaurant celebrating your friend's birthday.  You're enjoying your meals, but your friend's throat seems to be bothering him. You look at him and his face starts puffing up. He asks, "Were there nuts in this?"

Thank goodness, your friend already has an epipen on him! Or maybe you carry a spare one just in case!

You take the epipen out of your friend's pocket and use it on him.

If you don't have an epipen, call 911!

You have been getting headaches every time you come home lately. One of your family members says that they've been feeling a little dizzy or faint, too. One day you smell rotten eggs, but you know there aren't any rotten eggs around.

It could be carbon monoxide poisoning!

Go outside and get some air and call 911. If you can't go outside (your family member fainted and you can't move them but don't want to leave them) - open up windows to try to vent the air.

You're cooking dinner and have a small amount of oil in a pan.  All of a sudden, it's on fire! What do you do?

If it's small enough, try to extinguish it. It can be put out by smothering it (put the lid on the pan) or by using a fire extinguisher.

Because this is an OIL fire, you should NOT use water. That will not work. You can, however, pour salt on it to put it out.

500

What is the difference between a tornado watch and a tornado warning?

A tornado watch means that the weather conditions may lead to a tornado and you should be on alert.

A tornado warning means that a tornado has been spotted or detected by radar and people should take shelter.

A family member is cleaning in the kitchen using vinegar, but it's just not doing the job! They decide to pull out bleach, because it's more likely to get the job done.

Stop your family member from combining the two!
Vinegar and bleach should never be mixed. Separately, they safe enough to use as household cleaners, but together make a toxic gas.
