Why should you never eat in the lab?
You do not know what substances have been used or not cleaned properly and you do not want to consume anything harmful.
What is the manipulated / independent variable?
The factor in an experiment that gets purposely changed.
How do the brain and spinal cord work together?
The brain and spinal cord send and interpret messages.
What is a tissue?
Similar cells that perform the same function that are grouped together.

The steps someone takes to identify a question, develop a hypothesis, design and carry out steps or procedure to test the hypothesis write down data, and draw a conclusion.
What is a synapse?
The junction where one neuron can transfer the impulse to the next structure.
What is homestasis?
Maintaining the body at a specific temperature (98.6) and keeping the body balanced.
Why should you follow lab safety rules?
To stay safe from danger in the lab (examples: glass breakage, chemicals, poison, etc.)
The manager of an automobile factory feels that his workers aren’t working as well as they could and thinks that he can improve productivity by having workers drink Awesome Drink Energy Juice. He splits his workers into two groups, group A and group B: Group A receives the Awesome Drink Energy Juice and Group B does not. He asks them to assemble as many cars as possible in one hour. At the end of one hour, Group A assembled 27 cars and Group B assembled 41 cars. What is the independent variable and what is the dependent variable?
The independent variable is the energy drink. The dependent variable is the amount of cars that were assembled.
What is the peripheral nervous system?
A network of nerves that branches out from the central nervous system and connects to the rest of the body.
