Calling the room to attention

The first person to notice an officer, higher ranking than anyone present, entering the room call the command "Room, ATTENTION." If only SMs and officers are present, the command used is "Ladies and Gentlemen, the ___."

These customs are relaxed in conference, work, or classroom environments.

Civilian Attire: Whether indoors or outdoors, face the flag/music, stand at attention and place your right hand over your heart

Military-style Attire: For both indoor and outdoor honors, face the flag or music and stand at attention. Only outdoors will you render a salute.

Male and female hair 

Male: Not exceeding 2 inches in bulk. Tapered. No beards (unless medically waived). Hair will not protrude under headgear, nor will it touch the ears or collar.

Female: Not exceeding 4 inches in bulk. When loose, will not exceed past the bottom of the collar. When tied, will be 6 inches in radius from point of gathering and no more than 12 inches in width.
