How do you know when a fraction is improper?
The numerator (top number) is bigger than the denominator (bottom number).
First, find the least common multiple of the denominators. Then, make equivalent fractions with the new denominator by multiplying the numerators (top) by the same number you multiplied the denominators by (the bottom).
