Unit 1: God Reveals a Plan of Love
We should read this part of the Bible because it outlines the history of the Jewish people, because it is God's word, and because Jesus taught from these stories.
The Old Testament
Was promised this by God:
"Look up at the sky and count the stars, if you can. Just so shall your descendants be."
Abraham
The night when Moses instructed the Israelites to sprinkle blood of a sacrificial lamb on the doorposts; roast the lamb and eat it that night with unleavened bread and bitter herbs; eat with sandals on their feet and staffs in their hands, ready for flight.

Means a promise; a solemn agreement

God gave this to Samson in exchange for his vow to abstain from wine, unclean meat, and cutting or shaving of his hair.

According to the prophet Isaiah, the true kindgom would be brought by this kind of person
