Describe traditional Maori foods or clothing . 

Food: crops introduced by Maori settlers included yams, taro and kumara. They also ate wild berries, seeds and plants native to Aotearoa (NZ). Seafood was also a key source of nutrition (eels, whales, fish) and the Moa (flightless bird) until extinct. Food exchange and responsibilities was linked to social organisation and power. 

Clothing: used native flax and leaves, animal skins and feathers to make clothing. Weaving and plaiting was used in the creation of garments. Nature of clothing may indicate status (e.g. chief's cloak).
