What does a counselor do?
I work with kids teaching them about social emotional learning (friendship, conflict resolution, middle school, personal best, managing stress, test taking strategies) and careers in the classroom through classroom lessons, small groups, and individual counseling.

What feelings fall under the blue zone?
Sad, tired, bored.
What does best effort look like when the teacher is teaching?
Body is still, eyes on the teacher, not talking to your neighbor.
It means what you say to me is private. I don't share it with anyone else.

Hitting, kicking, biting, shoving, private parts.
What are some of the calm down strategies you can use in the yellow zone?
Star, pretzel, stretch, calm down corner or quiet room break.
What does it sound like giving your best effort when the teacher is teaching?
Voice level 0.
Exceptions to confidentiality.
You talk about hurting yourself, someone is being hurt, you talk about hurting someone else, or you give me permission to share.
Someone you know and someone you trust.
Ex. Mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, teacher, counselor
