Shakespeare is famous for his soliloquies, and they are vital in understanding the thoughts and feelings of the characters.

Briefly explain the electoral system in America during the presidential elections 

The winner takes it all system: The candidate with the most votes in each state take all electoral votes of said state. There are 528 electoral votes in total, and in order to become president you need at least 270 of these. The system essentially means that you do not need to win the popular vote in America to become president only the electoral. 

Most states are traditionally either Democrat or Republican but some are so called swing states in which the result of the vote differs from election to election.

What does it mean that English is used as lingua franca and how does that affect the language?

It is used as a means of communication between two people who do not speak the same language. 

The consequence is that many non-native speakers use the language which eventually will change the language into what its speakers need to be.
