When the investigators arrives the police won't cooperate as they are involved with KKK, who's behind the murders and also aren't fans of the civil rights movements. The African American comunity won't cooperate due to fear.

The leader in the Indian Independence Movement, who was known for his non-violent resistance. He fought against the British rule in India with peaceful protests. This included fasting as an example. This philosophy has inspired many other civil rights movements. He was political active from 1893 to 1948 when he was shot.
