Yes, you must read during silent reading. Certain situations may arise where Mr. Payne will allow you to do other work, but not without permission.

Listen to others. Keep voice to the level it should be based on class activity. Be helpful. Be respectful. Be responsible. Come prepared. Help others.
What do I do if I do not have a pencil AND how/when do I sharpen my pencil if I do have one?
Get a pencil from the pencil box. Return pencil to the box at the end of class. Not during whole group lesson- go to front of the classroom on top of the bookshelf to sharpen.
