Who is the Antagonist?
An imaginary person in a work of fiction.
What is a character?
A distinguishing characteristic or quality of a character.
What is a character trait?
Description of a character's looks or personality by the author.
What characterization?
The moment in a story when the action reaches the greatest conflict.
What is the climax?
The struggle between characters or a character has against an outside force.
What the conflict?
Comparing two things without using "like" or "as."
What is a metaphor.
A conversation between two or more characters.
What is dialogue?
The action that occurs after the climax and before the resolution.
What is the falling action?
Description of one thing in terms usually used for something else. Simile and metaphor are examples. Often abstract in nature. NOT literal.
What is figurative language?
What results when the actual outcome differs from what is expected.
What is irony.
When quoting from a text, you must include the text and lines numbers you are referencing in order to avoid this.
What is plagiarism.
If a person were to say that they are "so hungry that they could eat a horse," they would be using this literary device.
What is hyperbole?
These quotes are used to make a strung case for your argument. They can also be used in order to demonstrate what goes against your argument.
What is supporting evidence?
An adventure both small and large, this prequel is full of fantastic feats of heroes. The protagonist learns that he is capable of far more than he is believed. His greatest treasure fit in his pocket.

When an author uses figurative language in order to create a mental projection to the 5 senses of the reader.
What is imagery.
This method allows you to organize your writing into 5 sections. It can be drawn out on a sheet off paper by drawing a square with four lines going outward from the center of each side of the square.
What is the 5 square organizer or 5SO?
A tale of coming of age, the loss of youth, and the horrors of a world at war. Even when things are all quiet, the memories of this experience of survival and loss stay with the protagonist.
