What is a simplified plot of Young Goodman Brown

The story “Young Goodman Brown” starts with Goodman saying goodbye to his wife Faith, since he is about to go on a journey. At the beginning of his trip he meets up with this old man. This old man has a serpent like cane and looks very similar to Goodman, but older. They start heading on their journey and Goodman is regretting going. The old man then leaves Goodman and leaves his staff with him. Goodman then gets a sudden urge to go where the man went, so he grabs his staff and runs through the woods to an evil congregation. There everyone he knows is at the meeting, even those he wouldn’t suspect. The worst of all, his wife faith is their. He then wakes and up and realizes it was just a dream, or was it? So for the rest of Goodmans life, he was always paranoid that the people he thought he knew were actually evil.
