Wie wird das Simple Past gebildet?

Bei regelmäßigen Verben wird das simple past durch das Anfügen von –ed an die Grundform gebildet

  • (to) play + ed         =>       played
  • (to) talk + ed          =>       talked

Bei unregelmäßige Verben gibt es keine Regel. Hier hilft nur das Auswendiglernen der Verbformen.

Beispiel Simple Present -> Simple Past für "to be"

  • am / is ->  was
  • are   ->  were
