Is there a minimum amount of documents a student should turn in for a domicile review?
A student should provide as much information from our appeal form as they can showing a minimum of 1 YEAR of VA residency. A strong appeal should have at least 3 documents but it is not REQUIRED. The reviewer will let the student know if additional info is needed.
What is the application deadline for the Spring semester for Nursing? For Fall?
March 15th for Spring.
October 15th for Fall.
What should you do when a parent calls and asks to speak with their child who is currently in class?
Let the parent know that we are unable to divulge the student's location - direct to your Supervisor for further assistance. If it's an emergency direct parent to contact Security.
What are the Spring, Summer, and Fall graduation application deadline dates?
Spring: October 1st -January 31st
Summer: February 1st -May 31st
Fall: June 1st - September 30th
Applications must be manually created outside of their grad term date range.

The domicile appeal is to appeal their out-of-state status to in-state. The Domicile Determination form is to determine their status - in-state or out-of-state.

Can a student register under a WA1 hold?
YES - they need to turn in their permanent resident card within their first semester. They will be changed to out-of-state if this is not on record.

GPA Rule, 67% (completion rate), and 150% (SAP Max).
GPA/67% shows in their to-do list as one - needs documents to show mitigating circumstance.
150% shows in their to-do list and they meet with an Advisor.

What should you do if a student asks what time the campus closes and if the parking lot is patrolled at night?
Alert a counselor, Mark Haines, or Dr. Sarah Somerville that there is a student who may be in distress. Offer Germanna Cares card if the student is unable to meet with someone.
The student may be asking because they need a safe area to stay at during the day/night. If the student did not see a counselor discuss with your supervisor about a possibility to report an incident
What is the difference between Academic Reinstatement and Academic Renewal?
Reinstatement: The suspended student must submit a written petition for readmission/reinstatement to the Registrar for consideration by the Admissions Committee. The petition may be hand delivered to a campus Welcome Center or sent via email to: admissions@germanna.edu.
Renewal: Currently enrolled students who return to the College after a separation of 5 years (60 months) or more may petition for academic renewal. The request must be made on the Academic Renewal Petition form and submitted to the Welcome Center. If a student is determined to be eligible for academic renewal, “D”and ”F” grades earned prior to re-enrollment will remain on the permanent record, but will be deleted from the cumulative and curriculum GPA, subject to the following conditions:
