We are working on a web browser compatibility initiative. Our legacy web applications will need to be enhanced so they can run on multiple browers and devices. Currently, our applications only run on Internet Explorer. We have done some research ourselves into the best methods to use to achieve this goal. Something from Gartner would also be beneficial.

We're about two years into our shift from waterfall SDLC to Agile and we've had a lot of success, but the conflict between the short-term, quick-win, deliver-value-now mindset and the longer-term, plan-for-the-future perspective continues (and probably always will). We have another story in our September Sprint dealing with Image Resizing SaaS. In my research, I am finding several Content Management services and products that provide Image Resizing as a function, but my customer is primarily interested in just the resizing of images. Ideally, this customer would like to store master images on the server and then be able to have HTML 5 pages refer to the image via a URL. Based on HTTP headers, the server would (upon recognizing the client software, hardward and version) serve up the appropriate image format, resolution and size for the situation at hand. Again referring to my research, I have found offerings that require the page developer to specify resolution, format and size information (embedded in the URL), but my customer would prefer for these sorts of decisions to be made based on HTTP header information.
