In these novels the protagonist truly is going through an unique experience therefore making the notion of the "personal fable" a reality. Additionally, the protagonists are repeatedly in extremely dangerous situations which they survive, lending to the concept of invulnerability (note: adolescents are frequently troubled by the death of the protagonist in the Divergent series after surviving so many dangerous situations and shattering this concept).
