What does a rain gauge measure?
How much rain falls in a given amount of time. (daily, weekly)

What is the main function of the heart?
To pump blood all throughout your body
100
What are the 5 major food groups?
Grains, Fruit, Vegetables, Protein and Dairy

What is evaporation and how does it occur?
Evaporation is water molecules heating up and turning into a gas that rises into the atmosphere. It is caused by the heat from the sun.
200
What type of weather forms when a cold air mass meets a warm air mass?
Rain
200
What measure wind speed?
Anemometer
200
What is the function of the lungs?
To take in oxygen and give off carbon dioxide
200
Imagine that you have field day tomorrow, and you will need to eat a meal with lots of carbohydrates for energy. What food groups provides this type of nutrition?
Grains
300
What is condensation?
Water molecules cool off in the atmosphere and form clouds.
300
What type of severe weather can be caused by lightening storms and dry weather?
Fires
300
What measures air pressure
Barometer
300
What is the muscle that allows you to breathe in and out? Where is it located?
Diaphragm and it is located below the lungs inside the rib cage.
300
Suppose you eat a pizza with cheese, pepperoni, mushrooms, and peppers. What type of drink should you have in order to have the most balanced meal?
A type of fruit juice
400
What are four types of precipitation?
Rain, sleet, snow, hail
400
What is a hurricane?
A hurricane is a storm that forms from a low-pressure system forms over the Atlantic Ocean that rotates in a counter-clockwise, swirling pattern.
400
Suppose that you look outside and the weather is clear and dry with sunny skies. What type of pressure system would we probably experience?
high pressure system
400
How does the diaphragm work?
When the muscle goes down, it allows the lungs to inflate taking in oxygen. When you exhale, the muscle relaxes and returns up and deflates the lungs pushing out carbon dioxide.

Explain all the steps of the water cycle using correct vocabulary.
Evaporation- sun heats up water molecules and they become a gas and rise up in the atmosphere. Condensation- as water molecules rise and cool off in the sky, the condense and turn back into water to make clouds. Precipitation- falls from the sky when clouds become too heavy( hail, sleet, rain, snow) Run-off - when precipitation returns to the Earth, gravity causes it to run off to the lowest areas on Earth (rivers)

500
What type of pressure system causes severe weather?
Low-pressure systems
500
What are three functions of the circulatory system?
1. bring oxygen to all parts of the body 2. remove waste and carbon dioxide from the body 3. transporting blood all through out the body

protein
