What is PTSD. A nationwide survey of rape in the US, found 31% of rape victims developed PTSD at some point in their lives compared with 5% of non victims (Kilpatrick, Edmunds & Seymour, 1992). PTSD also persists longer in women than in men (Breslau et al, 1998).

What is schizophrenia. Affecting about 21 million people. Schizophrenia is a severe disorder that affects about 21 million. Common psychotic experiences include hallucinations (hearing, seeing or feeling things that are not there) and delusions( fixed false beliefs or suspicions that are firmly held even when there is evidence to the contrary). The disorder can make it difficult for people affected to work or study normally.
