The Plebeians (poor class) were tired of having no say and no representation in the Roman government. As a form of protest they refused to fight in the Roman army. The "Laws of the Twelve Tables" were a compromise between the Patricians (rich class) and Plebeians in ancient Rome. They were a series of laws that applied to all citizens, whether they were rich or poor.
