The state of Connecticut thinks this is too long, and the Connecticut legislature passes a law declaring the the school day will only run from 11am until 2pm. This clause in the U.S. Constitution prevents Connecticut from passing its law.

Connecticut has a statute that says that elections for the School Board will be on the first Tuesday in November. Congress passes a law stating that Connecticut's School Board elections must be held on New Years Day at 7am. This type of power that the states have will allow Connecticut to ignore Congress' law.

Patrice is arrested for fishing without a fishing license. She admits that she would be breaking the law if she was fishing, but she argues that she wasn't fishing. Rather, she claims that she was trying to get her shoe using a stick. The jury decides that Patrice was fishing, and sentences her to a $50 fine. Patrice wants a different court to hear her argument that she wasn't fishing. This is the court she can go to.
