The temple was destroyed because the Jewish people stopped listening to God's commandments- they were mean to each other and worshipped other Gods.

What is a Sukkah? Why do we sit in one?
A sukkah is a little hut we sit in during the holiday sukkot, the holiday for the plants. We do this because in the desert, the Jews built sukkot for themselves.
