hibernation: many animals must adapt to low temperatures to survive, so they hibernate. While in hibernation, animals regulate their own body temperature so they do not get too cold.

It controls precipitation, which plants and animals need to survive.
It also controls how much collected water is on the ground - deserts need dry grounds to survive while swamps need wet grounds to survive.

Therefore, I think elephants migrate when the temperature increases because they are looking for a new place that has collected water for survival.
