Principle of doing no harm. Example is nurses who maintain their skills for pt. safety.

Examples of this wrong doing are: medication errors, patient falls, use of restraints, equipment injuries, failure to take appropriate nursing action.

Composed of all the individuals caring for a patient per shift or in a 24 hour period.

Duty to keep one's word.

Deviation from a standard of care. An example is not following an organization's standard of care for pain management.

May include personnel from various disciplines including dept. head, nurse, environmental services. Responsibilities are finding better ways to provide better pt care and service.

This attribute allows the member to be there for the team. To follow through and do what they said they were going to do.

Adheres to unit policies concerning phone calls, breaks and leaving the work area.

Obligation to tell the truth. Example: admit to mistakes.

May include case manager, home care nurse, physical therapist and social worker.
