Euclid, also known as Eukleides was born at about 300 BCE. Not much is known about his life but he said he taught at alexandria in the time of Soter, an egyptian pharaoh. He is often confused with Eukleides of Megara, a philosopher.
Who is Euclid?
100
Most people may not realize it but Euclid is one of the most important mathematicians ever. Why is this? Well Euclid is called the father of geometry. That name comes with reason!
How important is Euclid?
100
Euclid specialized in geometry. Euclid's great work consisted of thirteen books covering all the mathematical genius of the greeks. For example, book 1-4, and 6; plane geometry.
What kind of math did Euclid specialize in?
100
Euclid helped to influence others. The way he used logic, and demanded proof helped to make the ideas of philosophers, even to this day. besides writing the elements, Euclid also wrote about; astronomy, mirrors, optics, and music theory.
How did Euclid influence others?

Did you know in greek geometry is roughly translated to earth measurement? Well back to the question. For example, If you wanted to build a school you would need to use geometry to get the area, volume, or even the perimeter, of what the building’s structure would be like.
How do we use Euclidian geometry?

Non-Euclidean geometry is not used as much as Euclidean geometry is. Euclidean geometry obviously created by Euclid. Non-Euclidean geometry is any form of geometry not created by euclid. The two most common non euclidean geometries are spherical geometry and hyperbolic geometry. In euclidean geometry, if you have to points; you will have one line between the two points, and it will never intersect. This is not so; with spherical there are no such lines!
What are the differences between euclidean and non-euclidean geometry?
200
Euclidean geometry is the study of Flat Space. In flat space there are concepts such as these; the shortest distance between two points is one straight line, and the sum of the angles of any triangle is 180°. Non euclidean geometry could be many different geometries. here’s one; spherical geometry. In both geometries you can draw a parallel line, not necessarily in spherical though.
What are the similarities between Euclidean and Non-Euclidean geometry?
200
Geometry is important because without it we would not have all these buildings we have today; for example, what about the Eiffel tower? The Eiffel tower is a geometrical wonder! It uses both triangles and arches to make up its structure. Who said geometry is boring!
Why should we respect geometry?

Geometry has been changed greatly over the years. First we started with Euclidean geometry, dealing with flat space. Then we developed other forms of geometry; like spherical geometry. The study of geometry on a sphere. This is Non-Euclidean geometry, any geometry that has not been made by euclid.
In what ways has geometry been changed?
