The introduction early in a story of verbal and dramatic hints that suggest what is to come later.
Foreshadowing
Deliberately misleading or manipulating narratives or facts to present a certain bias.

States the main purpose of the essay.
Thesis
A style of writing that concerns itself with punctuation, quotations, and documentation of sources.
