Phones, social media, and online games are designed to be hard to resist!  They intentionally attract your eyes and demand your attention.

How should laptops be transported in the building and when are students allowed to remove their laptops?

Computers will be transported in the building inside your backpack to keep them safe.

Wait to remove laptops until your teacher gives instructions to do so (Use computers only for the task your teacher has assigned you).

What is the morning break (how long, what days, where is it taken, what is the time for)?

It is an eight minute break from academics on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

It may be taken in the classroom  or outside.

It is a time to relax or socialize.

What happens if students don’t follow the expectations?

For the first offense, the student may pick up their device at the end of the day.

2nd time: We will let people at home know, and the student may pick up their device at the end of the day.

3rd time: Device must be checked into the main office every day for 1 month.

4th time: Device must be checked into the main office for the remainder of the school year.

*BONUS: Failure to comply will result in a jump to the daily check-in consequence.*

Why can’t students keep as many tabs open as they want?

too many open tabs create distractions, just like if you had too many papers, books, and materials all over your desk.

Limiting tabs helps us to remain focused on the task that has been assigned.

Why do we have morning break (3 reasons) and what are you allowed to do (list 3)

We have morning break because:

  • Your brain needs a break.

  • Your body needs to move.

  • Socializing is healthy.

  • Some students benefit from having a snack.


During morning break, you may choose to:

  • Have a snack.

  • Chat with a friend.

  • Take a movement break in an area designated by your teacher.

  • Read.

  • Stare at the trees and just relax.
