What do I do when I want to speak?
Raise my hand.
When can you get a drink of water?
During breaks or independent work. NOT during lessons.
What space are you not allowed in?
Teacher space - past the red line.
What voice level do we have when a speaker is talking?
Level 0
Do I have to ask to use the safe place?
Yes
When the bell rings, what do I do with my hands and my voice?
My hands go on my head and I turn my voice off.
Where do I keep my reading and math folders?
In my chair pocket. NOT IN MY DESK!
What do I do if I want to get out of my seat?
Raise my hand.
What level voice do I use when I am whispering to my neighbor.
Whisper talk (level 1)
Do I use the safe place to get out of work or to play?
NO!!!
What do I do when the speaker is speaking?
I turn off my voice and look at the speaker.
What do I do if one of my colored pencils breaks?
In the broken basket and get one pencil of the same color and walk back to my seat.
How do we sit on the carpet?
Criss cross, mountain or mermaid
What level voice should I use if I am working with a group?
Table talk (level 3)
When do I use the safe place?
When I ask and ONLY if I am feeling angry, mad, sad or frustrated.
What do I do when the music stops?
Be in my spot with a level 0 voice.
What do I cut with my scissors?
I only cut paper. NO GLUE, NO HAIR, NO CLOTHES!
Where does my pencil belong?
What voice level should I have when I am talking to my elbow partner?
6 inch voice (level 2)
What do I do with the tools in the safe place?
Hold them to help calm my body.
What do I do with my hand, feet, eyes and voice in the hallway?
What do I do if my pencil breaks?
I get up and put it in the dull or broken basket and get a new pencil and go back to my seat.
What do I do if my friend tries to talk to me?
Quietly make the shhhh sign or ignore them.
What level voice do I use when I need the whole class to hear?
Strong speaker (level 4)
What button do I push to start the timer?
Big blue button.
