What are 3 things that are appropriate to do at recess time?
Ex: swinging on the swings, playing basketball, talking nicely to my friends
How should you treat others here at Battles School?
I should treat others kindly and respectfully by using positive words.
How often should you do your homework?
You should do your classwork and homework ever day that they are assigned. Turning in your homework on time will teach you how to be prepared and successful in life.
How do You act when walking in line (to cafeteria, library, dismissal)?
You line up quietly, facing the front, hands to yourself in a SHARP line!
What should you do when you hear the recess bell at the end of recess?
Stop playing, and walk quickly to my line.
If you are angry or upset, what is a good way you can still be respectful?
Ex: Think before you speak, explain calmly what is making you upset, take deep breaths before you react…
What happens if you do not do your classwork and homework?
You will lose out on learning. You will have to make the work during your recess time. You will also lose out on Fun Friday at the end if the week.
What 3 expectations when in the library?
In the library, I use a level 0 voice, I look for my 2 books that are at my reading level, I sit quietly reading my books until dismissed.
What do you do if someone is being unfair or unkind to you at recess?
Tell that student to stop what they are doing. If it continues, go tell a yard duty supervisor.
What could happen if you are not respectful?
Ex: I could hurt someone’s feelings, I could get my name on the board, I could lose a friend, I could have my parents notified.
What do you need to bring to school everyday?
You need to bring your charged chrome book, your charger, your backpack with your binder, work, pencil, pen, and paper.
How do the classroom jobs work?
Each week, jobs will be posted on the job chart. It’s your responsibility to make sure you are doing your classroom job every day.
If you use playground equipment, what do you have to make sure you do?
Use any playground equipment responsibly and return it to its home when done.
Name 3 ways on how to show respect to someone?
Ex: Use kind words, listen when they are speaking, invite others to play, let them have their own opinion.

The responsibility is MINE!
What should you do when you want to ask a question or get your teacher’s attention?
You should raise your hand quietly until you are called on.
What happens if you break a rule?
I will receive a verbal warning. Then, recess will be taken away until I show I can act appropriately.
Why is respect important?
Ex: Being respectful is important for making friends, being successful, learning in a positive way, being happy.
Name 3 ways you can be responsible in this 5th grade classroom?
Ex. I can come to school on time. I can bring all my supplies and chrome book. I can finish all my work on time. I can listen and follow the rules.
When can I get out of my seat without asking?
You can get out of your seat without asking if you are done with your work and are getting an “early finisher” activity. You may also get out of your seat for a tissue or to sharpen your pencil (during independent work time)
