Student book/ packet, pencil/highlighter, Agenda and Math Notebook.
How long should transitions take?
As quickly and quietly as possible.
How do we treat classmates and teachers?
With respect.
When is it appropriate to leave your seat?
With permission or during approved movement activities.
When should you raise your hand?
When you want to speak or ask a question.
What does showing your work mean in math class?
Writing all steps clearly.
What should your body look like during transitions?
Walking calmly and staying on task.
What does responsibility look like in math class?
Being prepared and trying your best.
What should you do if you finish work early?
Look over your work, complete other math assignments and or DreamBox/Lexia. As I would say "assign yourself".
When is it okay to talk to your group?
During group work using quiet voices and Turn and Talks.
What should you do if you don’t know how to start a problem?
Try first, then ask for help.
What should you do if materials are missing?
Raise your hand or ask quietly.
What should you do if you make a mistake?
Learn from it.
How should you respond if a classmate makes a mistake?
Be respectful and supportive.
What happens if multiple students talk at once?
Learning is interrupted.
What does productive struggle look like?
Trying, making mistakes, and learning from them.
Why are smooth transitions important?
They save learning time.
How can you help create a positive classroom environment?
Follow expectations and encourage others.
