Someone could get hurt, we might not be invited back, or you might be asked to stay at school during future field trips.

Only with specific permission from your parent or guardian with notice given to the front office or your teacher in advance. No Tim Horton's runs during school Abdalsalam ;)

In the event of a lockdown, where should our class sit? What should we do? Can we keep our cellphones?
We will sit in the front corner under the computers, away from the windows and door. We should sit as still and silent as possible. Our cellphones and devices MUST be turned off and handed to Mr. Buchan.

Why do we go on field trips?
We go to learn, all field trips, need to be connected to our school curriculum. This means they need to fit what our grade(s) need to learn.

Why do we need to learn ___________ (math, science, health, art, ELA, Cree, Phys Ed.)?
As a teacher, it is my job to make sure you have an opportunity to learn (with support) about a number of specific things depending on your grade. We are asked to spend a certain amount of time working on them (practicing, playing, reading, exploring, talking). But HOW we decide to learn and show what we learn can be up to us.

What should you do if you are out of the classroom during a lockdown? Will people open closed doors for you?
Immediately step into the first open classroom or office you see. If you are near the bathroom close the door to one of the toilets and sit with your feet up on the seat with you. People will not open doors, this might put other students at risk.

1) You might need to make up time after school, you might need to write a letter, take a letter home or set up a meeting with the school and your family. 2) You will feel good, you will earn class prizes (I will talk more about this next week), your peers will feel better, Mr. Buchan will feel better and our class will become more awesome!

How much homework should you have to do every week?
Mr. Buchan will ALMOST NEVER (like maybe twice a month unless he's feeling nice - then less) GIVE you homework just to make you work. He WILL setup worksheet binders so that you can take home practice sheets for Math and ELA. He will expect you to review for tests and quizzes.
