Explain what the x and y intercepts will tell us in the following problem:
Darlene wants to buy an arrangement of flowers. She has $70. Carnations cost $5 per flower and tulips cost $10.
The x and y intercepts tell us how much of each flower we can buy if Darlene decides to get 0 of either carnations or flowers. With 0 carnations, she could get 7 tulips and with 0 tulips she could get 14 carnations.
