If "Up to" is listed on copays, what do you collect?
The amount listed ie: CL Eval "up to" $40.00
We charge patient $40 and write off the $15.00 for existing. We do not need to bill the $40 to ins.
What do you do with the Insurance cards when a patient does have them with them?
Scan them into their file
Who can sign the HIPAA page?
Patient over the age of 18, or guardian

Yes

Holder of the insurance plan
What % on CL evaluation with VSP do we write off?
15% unless it's a new fit, there may be a max charge of $60

Material order, and Insurance benefits.
Also making sure proper insurance is entered.
What is the difference between Medicare & Medicare Advantage?
Medicare Advantage replaces Medicare
Medicare usually has a supplement (additional Insurance policy)
If medical insurance says "Pays Routine" do we collect the copay?
No, unless it's a different insurance from last time, or if they are new patient without a record of medical coverage.

What do we do with demos when after the patient leaves?
Initial proper lines, scan into electronic file or give to appropriate staff to finish orders.
What do you do if we don't know patient's insurance benefits or if we are in network?
Tell the patient to call the back of their card to get benefits or check the website for in network providers.

Do Medical insurances require copays?
Yes, some do have copays after an initial visit ie; Medicare Security health (50.00) Aspirus or Medicare some have $45.00
