Students will be dropped from classes if payment is not made. Additionally, a HOLD will be placed on the student account and LACCD will review and decide when to send out the “Pay to Stay” (Drop from classes if full payment is not made) notifications. Students will receive an email communication to inform them of the payment date.
Does a B06 hold prevent a student from receiving a refund disbursement?
No, a B06 does not prevent students from receiving a refund, it prevents a student from registering for classes.

The FAFSA application needs to have consent from the student and spouse (if married) and Parent(s) if Dependent for the IRS to directly link the taxes to the application. If a student or contributor declines the consent, the student's application will not be processed for financial aid.

Can a student reduce their SAI if they have a change in income from the base year and current year?
Yes, the student can contact the FAO and see if they qualify with a Professional Judgement called an Income Adjustment.
What is a CSEP Adjustment Form and who submits the form to the Appeal Committee for review?
The CSEP Adjustment Form is a form required to add additional courses to a Financial Aid Contract for any repeated or needed courses for the student to complete their Educational Goal at LASC after having attempted over 90 units.
The process to request a loan and how much can a student borrow?
The student needs to email the Financial Aid Office once their Financial Aid application is completed. The student must be in good academic standing and has to be enrolled in a minimum of 6 Financial Aid units.
The loan amount a student qualifies for will depend on the student's budget and the amount requested.
What is FERPA?

AB540 is a CA law that allows for undocumented or certain non-resident students pay CA in state tuition at Community Colleges and Universities.

Where can you submit a correction to a FAFSA/CADAA application?
FAFSA corrections can be processed through the FAFSA Partner Connect or through Campus Logic as part as the weekly batch process the district generates.
CADAA corrections can be processed through the WebGrant Website only.
What is the difference between a Academic Probation and Academic Dismissal?
Academic Probation: A student who has attempted at least 12 semester units and has earned a grade point average below 2.0 in all units which were graded on the basis of the grading system.
Academic Dismissal: A student on academic or progress probation for three consecutive semesters may be dismissed from the college. Academic probation is reached when a student has attempted a minimum of 12 semester units of work and has a grade-point average of less than a “C” (2.0).
**Once dismissed, the student may not attend any college within the Los Angeles Community College District for a period of one year and must petition for re-admission at the end of that period of time.
What does SAI mean and what did it replace?
SAI is the Student Aid Index and it replaced the EFC- Expected Family Contribution in the calculation of how much Pell Grant a student is eligible for.

SSCG will now be awarded to students from DSPS that are taking 9 units to be classified as a 12+ student and will now be eligible for the award up to $1,298
Can the Business Office generate a personal code to all students for BankMobile?
The Business Office can only generate an instant personal code to new students. Students who had previously opened a BankMobile or HigherOne account will need to contact BankMobile directly and re-open their account.
How long does it take for an Admissions Application to process?
Students should receive an email from LASC within 48-72 hours instructing the student how to register for classes.
What is a Loss of BOWG and can a student regain eligibility?
A loss of BOWG is when a student losses their waiver that covers their tuition and places the responsibility back to the student to pay the balance for the tuition during a specific term. The student can regain eligibility by Appealing for the loss of BOWG with the Admissions Office.
What is CCCApply stand for and what is used for?
It is the California Community College official online platform that helps students apply for any of the 116 community colleges in California. LASC students need to apply directly through this platform in order for the system to process an Admission application to the college.
Overpayments/R2T4 in terms of holds being placed?
Students with overpayment balances will have a F09 hold in addition to the B18/B16 hold(s) when a student is identified to be overpaid.
What contributor must complete the FAFSA/CADAA applications?
The parent who provides more financial support to the student, not the parent that the student lived with the most (if separated). If the parent has re-married then both the contributor and spouse or if the parent's never married but are living together (biological parents), then both.
Can a student make payment plan arrangements to balances and if so what kind?
1. Students can make payment arrangements for institutional balances through Nelnet (B06/B16).
2. The student can make payment arrangements if they have a straight overpayment or R2T4 within the same academic year and use money from the current term to cover the overpayment (B18).
3. The student can use $200 from a current year to cover the straight overpayment or R2T4 payment from a prior year and repay the entire balance before they can be re-instated and receive aid the current year.
