What are the cleaning protocols for my building?

All buildings are cleaned daily.

Custodial Cleaning Work Schedules are posted in the Custodian’s Office and are available upon request. 

All bathrooms get a complete top-to-bottom cleaning nightly, in addition to scheduled touch-ups and emergency responses during the day. 

All schools have on hand a 2-month supply of soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and other essential cleaning supplies. Please contact your Custodian first if supplies are needed.

How do you handle concerns around water, energy or electricity?

Main Offices should call the Energy Division office at 617-635-8740 for any emergency questions or concerns, especially regarding thermostats and classroom temperatures.
Submit a work order to Asset Essentials for all non-emergency requests.

What is the system used by Transportation for school buses?

The Zum school portal is used to locate buses in real-time. Schools have access to all the same information that BPS Transportation has to track their buses through Zum. Using Zum to track your buses is faster than calling the Principal Line.

Requesting projects and improvements should be submitted via the FMT 03 form, which will require feasibility and budgeting as the next steps to determine if the work will move forward.

How do I handle a concern in my building?

All building/facilities concerns should first be directed through your custodial staff, then the Area Manager (the quickest way to get a problem resolved is to follow the chain of command in the building, i.e. Senior Custodian -> Junior Custodian -> Area Manager) or your Planning & Engineering Supervisor (e.g. Plumbing, Electrical) if applicable, E.g. Submitting a work order through Asset Essentials.

Request submitted, supervisors review, schools receive email notification, work is executed, work occurs, supervisors review work, and work order is completed.
