The Mitzvah of the Four Kinds commands us to bind together four types of produce (etrog, lulav, haddas, and aravah) and wave them in 6 directions. This is to represent the binding and uniting of the four types of people of Israel.

During Simchat Torah, we begin rereading the Torah anew. This is so that we can discover new meanings in the words of the Torah and analyze its language, since every word has a specific significance and power. In the same way, the words WE use on a daily basis have significance and power, and so we should be wary of how we use words.
