TRANSFERS
WHEN IS A GAIT BELT APPROPRIATE DURING A TRANSFER?
A. when a pt is A&OX2 and below.
B. any time a pt is assisted during a transfer
C. only if a pt has a red sign
D. PCT's are the only ones required to use gait belts because Nurses have extra training to transfer without gait belt.

why?
this is to help pull pt up during transfers and if applied properly will save a pt from a fall everytime as the one assisting will not be trying to help a pt from falling by pulling on there shirt or a random area that may not help pull weight.
