What is the difference between Misinformaion and Disinformation?
Misinformation spreads false information unknowingly. Disinformation spreads false information on purpose.
What is Currency?
Currency is the timeliness of information. (When it was published.)
Is a NASA scientist a trustworthy source on Space?
Yes, they work for the "North American Space Agency" therefore, they are a trustworthy source.
Why is credibility important?
Because we want people to trust us. If we tell lies, we lose our credibility.
What is Relevance?
Relevance refers to how this source relates to your work. (If writing about the Acadians, we do not want sources about Whales.)
What is a Primary Source?
A First-Hand account of an event from someone who was there.

What is Authority?
Authority refers to the source of the information. (Are they trustworthy? Are they an "authority" on the info?)
Are any of your teachers at EMS experts on Small Engine repair?
Teachers are trained to instruct on academic subjects (like ELA, Social Studies, Math, Biology, Etc) it is unlikely that they have the knowledge and expertise that a Mechanic would have
Is "The Onion" a reliable source?
No. Because it is a satirical news source. (Example of Satire or "Joke".)
What is Accuracy?
Accuracy refers to how truthful the information is.
What is a Secondary Source?
Information that is written about the event of Primary Sources (after the fact) and by researchers, not the people who were there.
Are indigenous Oral Histories accurate?
Yes. In indigenous cultures, oral histories are treasured by the community and stories are trusted with community Elders to re-tell from memory.
What is Purpose?
Purpose refers to why the information exists in the first place. (Does it exist to inform? To teach? Etc)
Is Wikipedia a good source?
Sort of... It is a good source for us to get general knowledge, but for specific knowledge, it is not. (Anyone can edit info on Wikipedia.)
