Complaints are minor issues that staff resolve quickly, while grievances are formal, written concerns about care, safety, or rights that require investigation, documentation, and a written response within 30 days. Complaints can usually be addressed within 24 hours.

What is something all staff members must do in between seeing patients and providing service once they have been roomed into the exam chair?

All staff must wash or sanitize their hands and put on new gloves before treating each patient. This helps prevent cross-contamination and infection transmission between patients, and it’s a core requirement of infection control protocols in dental settings (per CDC and OSHA guidelines).
