They can be traced back to certain diseases such as tuberculosis which makes causes wasting, pellagra which makes a person get sensitive skin, and rabies which causing biting and general sensitivities.

The father and son duo wore the pelts, transformed into Wolves and went on a killing rampage in the forest. The father attacked the son causing a lethal wound. Thankfully he wasn't killed because a raven gave the son magical healing!
