Moses was the leader who freed the Jewish people from slavery from the Egyptians.
What is a Rabbi?
A Rabbi is someone who teaches people the Torah.
The Rabbi often leads daily services at the synagogue. The Rabbi also helps counsel people, like married couples, and conflicts between members of the community based on the Jewish laws.
What is the holiday Passover?
Passover is celebrated in April to remember the freedom of the children of Israel after Moses freed them from the Egyptians.
What does the Shofar signify?
It signifies the ending of Yom Kapur and the new year of Rosh Hashanah.
What is the Exodus?
The Exodus means the escape from Egypt and is celebrated during the spring holiday called the Passover.
What is a Cantor?
A Cantor is someone who is in charge of leading prayers which people sing. Usually is someone who sings solo versus or passages which the choir or congregation responds to. The Cantor also helps teach people how to sing prayers and passages from the Torah.
What is Yom Kippur?
Yom Kippur or the Day of Atonement, is where jews are fasting for 25 hours meaning they can't eat or drink for 25 hours. The Jews pray at Synagogue or at home for forgiveness for their sins they made and make resolve arguments or disagreement they may have done to someone they also throw pieces of bread into open bodies of water for every sin they made and start of fresh.
what is a Mezuzah?
It is handcrafted parchment which contains to parts of the Torah.
Why did the Egyptians make the Jewish people their slaves?
The Egyptians were polytheistic and thought that the Jews were angering their gods because of the Jewish peoples religion and made them there slaves.

The Torah is the holy book in Judaism.
What is the holiday called Hanukkah?
Hanukkah is also known as the Jewish festival of lights. It is an eight-day holiday that celebrates the miraculous victory over religious persecution, or being enslaved due to practicing religious belief.
What is Challah?
Challah is breaded bread baked by women and children before the Shabbat.
Why did the Jews leave Canaan?
The Jews left there because of a drought that lasted many years prevented them from growing crops and they decided that they should live somewhere else.
What are the three main Dominations in the Jewish religion?
Orthodox the most religiose one out of the Three main Dominations. Conservative in between Orthodox and Reform. Reform the least religiose one out of the Three main Dominations.
What is Bar/Bat mitzvah?
Bar mitzvah is when a Jewish boy turns thirteen, and Bat mitzvah is when a Jewish girl turns twelve. The Jewish people celebrate this because these children are now considered to be young adults in the eyes of the Jewish religion.
What is Matzo?
This is flat bread that is eaten during Passover to remember how Moses freed the Jewish people from slavery from the Egyptian Pharaoh.
