What is credential evaluation?
If an institution holds this status, it means it has been authorized to grant degrees by the appropriate authority.
What is accredited, or recognized?
The tool we use to complete GPA reports.
What is Scholaro?
Before starting a GPA evaluation in Scholaro we should check these two things.
What is the institution's accreditation and the number of backlogs/retakes?
This degree in China is considered equivalent to a US bachelor's degree.
What is the benke?
This approach in credential evaluation compares the number of years in the foreign education system to the number of years in the domestic education system.
What is year-counting?
This is the main accreditation body in China.
What is the Ministry of Education?
The main source we use to determine degree equivalency.
What is AACRAO Edge?
If an applicant has more than 10 of these, we do not complete a GPA report.
What are retakes (or fails)?
If an institution in India holds an A grade or higher from this organization we consider three-year bachelor degrees earned there to be equivalent to a US bachelor.
What is NAAC?
An example of this approach to credential evaluation would compare completion of the 11-year bachillerato in Colombia to completion of high school in the US.
What is benchmarking?
We check this organization's list to determine whether a higher education institution in India is recognized by the appropriate authority.
What is the University Grants Commission?
A list of recognized universities on a country's Ministry of Education website is an example of this type of source.
What is primary?
We don't include these as retakes in our GPA report.
What are withdrawals?
If an institution in India holds this type of accreditation, we consider three-year bachelor degrees earned there to be equivalent to 3 years of U.S. undergraduate study.
What is UGC accreditation or NAAC grade lower than A?
If the grading scale you need isn't in Scholaro, you should do this.
What is add it in the Grade Scale Approvals spreadsheet?
This is the main accreditation body in Nigeria.
What is the National Universities Commission?
The World Higher Education Database is this type of source.
What is secondary?
We do count these courses as retakes in our GPA report.
What are absences?
Nigeria's National Diploma plus Higher National Diploma is considered equivalent to this in the US.
What is 4 years of UG study?
This is an example of a non-NU grading scale you can use for India.
What are Vellore Institute of Technology, Nirma University, Anna University, Dr. N.T.R. University of Health Sciences BDS, or Most Common?
In this situation we do not need to create a degree equivalency report or GPA report.
What is when the institution is not accredited?
A secondary source we can use to check an institution's accreditation.
What is the World Higher Education Database, or Scholaro Pro?
We cannot complete evaluations based only on this type of document.
What is the English translation?
In this scenario a master's degree from India would be considered equivalent to a bachelor's degree in the US.
