They just protect the people of the land they live in, they are the army of the lord, and their sworn loyalty makes them not fight in war but fight to protect the lord and peasants

It started from these little black rats that were everywhere around Europe.

Yes and no.

No because they are born as serfs and have to stay as serfs.

No because if they were born serfs they stay as serfs, not even lords or noble men are allowed to move up in levels
