smoke/ash, new islands molten rock, destruction of biosphere, ash in water

400

What is the "law of energy" also known as the law of conservation of energy?

Energy can not be created or destroyed but can change forms?

400

How are where are deltas formed?

When a river slows down and deposits the sediment it carries.  The mouth of a river where it meats a sea or ocean.

Deforestation in the Amazon rainforest reduces the amount of water vapor released into the air. Over time, this leads to less rainfall and drier soil, which makes it harder for trees to grow back.  How does this affect the four spheres

  • Biosphere: Trees are cut down, reducing vegetation.

  • Atmosphere: Less water vapor is released through transpiration, lowering humidity.

  • Hydrosphere: Less rainfall occurs, reducing water in rivers and soil.

  • Geosphere: Soil dries out and erodes more easily, preventing regrowth.

500

Explain how clouds forming can be a negative feedback loop regarding Earth's temperature?

As Earth warms, water evaporates creates more clouds, which reflect light, cooling the Earth

500

What is the process where rock is slowly carved by wind and water?

Erosion

How can you determine ridges and valleys on a contour map.

ridge - v shape away from peak

valley- v shape towards the peak
