Mortal and Venial Sin

What is mortal sin?
Sorrow for having offended God, hatred for sin, and a firm purpose not to sin again is called THIS.
What is "Contrition".
Confession is the act of telling your sins (esp. Mortal Sins) to a priest within the Sacrament of Penance. The person must say the kind of sin and THIS FACT to the priest.
What is "the NUMBER of times he/she has committed each".
If we commit a mortal sin, what should we do?
1. pray a perfect act of contrition
2. go to confession ASAP
A person in mortal sin can regain the state of grace before receiving the sacrament of Penance by doing THESE TWO THINGS.

Sorrow for sins because the sin is evil and for fear of punishment of Hell is called THIS.

John 20:23- "Receive the Holy Spirit, whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained."

If we knowingly conceal a mortal sin in confession, the sins we confess are not forgiven; moreover, we commit a mortal sin of THIS.
What is "Sacrilege"?
Sanctifying Grace is the gift new life and a sharing in God's own divine life. Conversely, THIS sin brings Spiritual death and the loss of sanctifying Grace.

THIS dictates that a priest may not, under any circumstances, repeat, or even hint at, anything said within confession.
